Small Farm Success Grants Program The Small Farm Success Grants Program aims to improve the profitability of farmers and farmer groups through innovative marketing ideas. Two separate grants programs were launched in 2001 - Individual Farm Marketing Grants and Group Marketing Grants. Individual farmers working to increase their access to new or existing markets in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia were encouraged to apply for $500 grants through the Individual Farm Marketing Grants program. The program provides assistance to farmers seeking to expand their customer base. Projects awarded grants range from development of a farm marketing brochure to construction of a high tunnel to extend the growing season and increase sales. Larger grants (up to $4000 per award) were designated for farm organizations, farmer groups, and farmer cooperatives in the Mid-Atlantic region. To qualify for funding through the Group Marketing Grants program, farmer-based groups and organizations must be working to adopt and promote innovative marketing techniques and strategies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia.
The individual farms and groups receiving funding through the Small Farm Success grants program are shown under the menu items to the right:
